Being new to ebase (although not to fundraising software), what I do find a bit confusing is the different payment type screens accessed differently. That is, you get one type of screen(s) when you hit the payment tab and entirely different set of screen(s) when you hit the "view payment" button within the first 2 tabs. Shouldn't you be able to access the same screens regardless of how you access "payments" ??? Maybe this is confusing to other new ebase users?
So, I vote for keeping the "view payment" screen, but maybe making all payment screens available whether you hit the tab or the button....
Or, am I missing something here?

To me, one of the most annoying things in Ebase is the extra screens in between History and Entry for most of the related files. For example, with Payments, you have Payment History (which is in Names), and when you click on View Payment, you go to the View Payments screen (which is in Payments), which is the one with the three columns for Dues, Contrib, etc. But you still can't edit a payment from here or see many of the fields, you gotta click View Pmt Entry. Personally, I find the "middleman screen" to be completely extraneous and confusing to almost every new user. (At least with Payments, you get the three columns, but for other files I can't see any point.) Why not go directly from history to the individual payments? I have cut these screens out of several of the customizations I've done.
But I'm curious as to what I'm missing. Do any of you find these in-between screens helpful in any way? Can anyone come up with a reason why you (personally) wouldn't want them removed?
