Yes, as Walt has said, changing the definition of your year will
change all the summary fields to the new year. So after the change,
Last Year $ will be the total this individual gave during the
previous fiscal year.

You make this change by changing the month your fiscal year starts,
using the setup wizard.

 From the home screen, click the Admin tab
- select Screen 2
- select the button Use Setup Wizard
- click the next button to take you to the fourth screen
- near the bottom is an item labeled "Fiscal Year Start Month".

If you are using a calendar year, it's probably set to 01- January.
Select the month your year starts.

- click next until you get to the last screen and click Done.

You'll need to run the script Replace All Find Fields to get the
summary fields to update to the new fiscal year definition.
