On the home screen, on the very lower right side of the "page" we have a "code" field. this is where we identify our consituency..."M" for member, "Board", "FYI", "Prospect", "Prospect 2", and "patron". When I go to "layout" the field name is "Code" as well as the label (when you're in browse mode)
I was finding that some folks weren't coded correctly, so to assess how much cleanup I'd need to do, I did a find where I searched on this field for blanks...that is, anyone without a code...and found over 3500! In addition, i found our foundation contacts (and prospects) weren't coded either, which means they're not receiving our mailings.
In trying to clean up data, and get the database effectively segmented according to our constituencies, I need to alter and edit the look-up list (you can't enter anything in the field other than the above categories)....But, for the life of me, I can't find the list to edit!
Is that any clearer?

I'm having trouble figuring out what you're attempting. I can't see a
code field on the home screen. I don't know what you mean by "blank
folks" (maybe the field you are looking at is blank for some records?
Or is the entire record blank?). Don't know what you mean by look-up
chart.
You're going to have to be very specific about what you're looking at.
