I do extensive development on Mac to be used on PCs. Primary differences are the layouts/fonts.
Another thing to make certain is that windows maximize every time they're opened. If you open a layout which, in turn, opens a secondary file (via a portal, for example), the current window may cease being maximized. This is ugly, you'll see a smaller window and lots of scrollbars. You need to run the toggle window maximize command after opening the secondary files. This is best handled by scripting opening of the secondary files *before* the layout tries to open them. All this is irrelevant on the Mac, which handles windows in a different manner. The caveat is that you'll never notice the problem if the secondary files are already open when you call the layout. But, sooner or later, your users will. Bottom line: Develop on a Mac, but test (and if necessary, modify) the files on a PC before your users see them.
