>Because the report calculates, sort order isn't available. It is, but it's obscure. The sort order specified by the script that generates the report is alpha, since the Member level field is at text field. You can replace that sort order with one you prefer. To replace a sort order, you perform the sort you want, then open the script to edit, then close it again. You are then offered the choice to KEEP or REPLACE embedded sort, search, import, and export criteria. You would replace the sort order.
To create the sort order you want, you would create a value list using the values you have specified for member level, in the order you want them sorted in. (Yours are currently the default values - you can change them in the setup wizard) When you sort you choose the field to sort by, you can choose increasing, decreasing, or "special order" using a value list - where you would specify the value list you created with member levels. > >What about changing the field type from text to number? Any words of warning? Yes. Since the values like "$100 - 249" aren't numbers, but strings of characters, a number field would give unusual results. FileMaker would ignore the text part, and pay attention only to the number part. But what part of 100 and 249 it would find, I'm not sure. > >Likewise, I can't figure out how to change the member >level...suppose, for example that I want to alter my member levels >so as to get $1,000-1400 and then $1500 and up.....I can't seem to >figure out how to make this change so it's active.
