I've been learning and using Ebase since March. I followed the instructions for setting up legacy files and imported that way. I didn't notice that I had the files with the 103CONVERTED on the until I started getting the delete record errors. I've successfully deleted plenty (well, under 100) of records before. Unfortunately, I DID follow the recover procedure when I first ran into the recommendation to do so. Let me see if I understand your recommendation - 1. I use the Export command to export every file in ebase. 2. I have NO .103 files listed in my ebase files. For example, my names file is listed as names_ -- and the oddities are all listed as names_103converted. The file that has my data is the names_ one. QUESTION: So, do I just eliminate all the files in the ebase files folder? 3. I download empty ebase .103 files from the web site. 4. I import all the files I exported. 5. I reset the last serial number used in each file QUESTION: How do I reset the serial numbers? Never heard of them. You said details are in the archives. Do you mean the message archives. thanks, marion > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: Marion Hogan [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > > Sent: Tuesday, November 13, 2001 1:53 PM > > To: TechRocks Support > > Subject: [support] Naming the "names" file > > > > > > Since I've been having a problem with ebase (corrupted script), I found > > out that the file it wants to load at startup is called > > names_103CONVERTED.
