Yes, I have a shareware version of Adobe Acrobat (cheaper - Acrobat would work) that basically installs itself as a printer. You print to that printer and get a .pdf file which you can then send as an attachment to email. I don't know if similar things are available for Macs.
Yep, that's one of the virtues of the Acrobat format, it's
completely cross-platform. I make pdf files all the time to send round
via email. They are pretty compact, as well, and go over the wire
quickly.
