It's been a couple years, but as I recall one of the many files installed by Acrobat is the PDFWriter. I think that may be the actual Mac name and the Windows version is called pdfwritr.drv. It's just a small file, but this is the one that does the work. The operating system thinks it's an ordinary printer driver, but instead it writes any printer output to a pdf file. Incredibly handy, especially for saving reports and forms. As I recall, there are also shareware substitutes available for both platforms, but I can't offer links or recommendations.
