It's been a couple years, but as I recall one of the many files installed by
Acrobat is the PDFWriter. I think that may be the actual Mac name and the
Windows version is called pdfwritr.drv. It's just a small file, but this is
the one that does the work. The operating system thinks it's an ordinary
printer driver, but instead it writes any printer output to a pdf file.
Incredibly handy, especially for saving reports and forms. As I recall,
there are also shareware substitutes available for both platforms, but I
can't offer links or recommendations.
