Your system sounds sufficiently screwed up that I would recommend exporting
the names, payments, contacts, and notes files and importing into a clean
copy.

Should be fixed by the reimport above, unless you have modified the letter
in which case you will have to remodify it along with any other modification
that have been made.

You could add additional information on the layouts.

I presume you are doing the find on the top line. The contents of this line
depend on the record type of the record. Record type IND will have peoples
names in the top line but other record types typically have the organization
name.

That is an unfortunate property of FileMaker and not really ebases fault. It
is ebases fault in the sense that it uses a bound solution so people can run
single user for free and bound solutions require the strange file
extensions.
