FYI, there's really no reason not to just do a Filemaker import of the entire Names file (as well as all others), field for field, unless you know there are problems in the field data (in which case you'll need to figure out another fix. Then, as Dave reminded you, re-set auto-enter serial numbers so you don't have duplicates (and thereby totally screw up the works...)
