If you have FileMaker, you can import data from each file in one set
into the corresponding file in the other set. There are several major
potential pitfalls in this procedure, and it will take some time. You
should first look at the situation and decide whether it might not
make sense to re-key the data from one file into the other.

The major caution is to discover whether this will create duplicate
records in any of the files. There is a procedure built into ebase to
discover duplicates in the names file, but for the rest, payments,
source codes, actions, etc., it will be more difficult.

Also, the record numbers in the file from which you extract data will
change when it is imported into the new file. The import process will
match record numbers between names and payments, but for actions,
contacts and notes, that won't be automatic.

I'm sure I'm overlooking other issues - anyone else add to this?

This is not a process that will be easy. If there is a lot of data in
both files, so you don't want to re-key the data from one of the
files, you should probably enlist the help of someone who has enough
experience with FileMaker and ebase to work through the transfer
process.
