Yes there is a file deleted_.10x that contains a tiny amount of information, the orignial record number, the first name, last name, deletion date, who deleted and the reason. You can view it from admin screen 2. There is enough information here to know which of your backups to look at if you need to retrieve more information. Presuming you save weekly or monthly backups forever.
