It is very hard to guess what kind of mess you have created without you telling us exactly what you did to combine two versions. The Desktop is on the hard drive. There is no other permanent place to remember anything. MS tries very hard to confuse naive users that the Desktop is somehow special. What shows up as Desktop is really c:\windows\Desktop on win 9x and much more complicated on Win 2000. Do you really mean that all 29 *.10x files were on the desktop? Or meerly an icon for invoking ebase? Having two sets of .10x files on the same hard drive is almost always fatal leading to a very confused mixture of two sets of data. Hopefully you saved the complete set of everything before venturing off into the unknown. > the problem now is that i cannot access the donor type field-- it > says field > missing. it seems that all i have to do is find which file is responsible > for the donor type field. does anyone know which file this is? > What are you doing to access the donor type field and on what screen? Are you running Ebase single user runtime version or FileMaker Pro version? Most likely you will need FileMaker Pro to recover a deleted field. ------------------ Reminder to each recipient: To change your list account preferences, go to http://email.sparklist.com/scripts/lyris.pl?enter=support and enter the email address you used to subscribe to the ebase support list:: [email protected] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] --------------------------------------------------------------------- ebase - Relationship Management for Nonprofits, http://www.ebase.org ---------------------------------------------------------------------
