>Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong here? When I create a csv file

The terminology will be confusing. csv is short for Comma Separated
Values. At its base, this just means a text file where the fields are
separated by commas (with quotes around fields with embedded commas)
and records separated by carriage returns.

Somtimes (in Excel and others) you'll see CSV used to mean a csv file
with the first row containing the field names. FileMaker uses the
file time Merge to specify this type of file.

So, as is suggested, if you use the ebase button, you get the right
type of file. If you use FileMaker export tools, select the file type
Merge and you'll get what you're looking for, a csv text file with
the field names in the first row.
