>How often should I rung the "Replace All Find Fields" script?
This script updates the Fast Find Fields such as those in the gray area at the bottom of the home screen with recent payment data. These fields are out of date as soon as you enter a new payment. You should therefore run the update script whenever you do any significant amount of data entry, and certainly before you do anything which relies on those fields, such as search for current members or people at a particular level of giving. >Do I need >to run it for all records? Not always. You should periodically, though, to insure you haven't overlooked some records when selecting by date (see below). >If I put in a start date, will it only update >records (names) that were entered after that start date, or will it also >update any payments entered after that start date for records (names) that >have been entered in the database previously. It will update all names records that have related payment records posted on or after the date you enter. For example, assume you entered my name and address as a new record on January 15, and I gave you a donation on February 15. If you run the update script with a date of February 1, the Fast Find Fields in my record will get updated. -- -- Dave Shaw H4 Consulting tel: 206-954-7526 fax: 206-625-1338 ------------------ Reminder to each recipient: To change your list account preferences, go to http://email.sparklist.com/scripts/lyris.pl?enter=support and enter the email address you used to subscribe to the ebase support list:: [email protected] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] --------------------------------------------------------------------- ebase - Relationship Management for Nonprofits, http://www.ebase.org ---------------------------------------------------------------------
