Can anyone tell me what source codes are and what they are used for in Ebase v1.02?
From page 7-1 of the Administrator Manual...
"ebase makes it easy to
analyze the effectiveness of your fundraising and
activist
outreach efforts. You can analyze
the effectiveness of a campaign from year-to-year,
as well as the responsiveness of
rented lists and segments of your house
file on a particular mailing or
across mailings.
The key to collecting and
analyzing response information is the "source code,"
a
unique identifier for each
mailing. The source code identifies the specific
communication that prompted a
member/activist to make a contribution or take
action. Whenever you enter a
payment or action in ebase, you should also enter
the source code that generated
the payment or action."
