I assume you mean names.100? No, it's not normal to take that long for 1100 recs, nor should a database of 1100 recs be 100MB in size. I might try doing a Save As <compressed> before exporting, or maybe even try a Recover... (save a backup first). FMP is slow for import/export, but not that slow.

The contacts.100 file was over 100MB, and has taken over 2 hours (so far) to export, with no end in sight. Is this normal for a database that has about 1100 names, and a max of about 20 contact items per name? best, jon --------------------------------------------------- Jon Stahl, Program Manager ONE/Northwest: Online Networking for the Environment <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]>[EMAIL PROTECTED] <http://www.onenw.org/>http://www.onenw.org p: 206.286.1235 f: 413.702.0213 icq: 16742255 aim: jondstahl Subscribe to ONEList, our free monthly email newsletter about using technology to protect the environment! <http://www.onenw.org/onelist/>http://www.onenw.org/onelist/ ------------------ Reminder to each recipient: To change your list account preferences, go to http://email.sparklist.com/scripts/lyris.pl?enter=support and enter the email address you used to subscribe to the ebase support list:: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] --------------------------------------------------------------------- ebase - Relationship Management for Nonprofits, http://www.ebase.org --------------------------------------------------------------------- <<<< ------------------ Reminder to each recipient: To change your list account preferences, go to http://email.sparklist.com/scripts/lyris.pl?enter=support and enter the email address you used to subscribe to the ebase support list:: [email protected] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] --------------------------------------------------------------------- ebase - Relationship Management for Nonprofits, http://www.ebase.org ---------------------------------------------------------------------
