Can't be sure what you're doing wrong unless we know more about what 
you're doing. Ebase will insist that Record Type have a value, and 
that it's IND, BUS, ORG, or FDN (case doesn't matter). Are you using 
the ebase import wizard? Map your Record Type column to the field 
Import Record Type. After you import the data, you get a chance to 
review and edit the data. Check that Record Type has data, and that 
it's all correct values.
