FileMaker is pretty aggressive about finding a file that it needs to 
reference, so operating two copies of ebase from the same drive is 
pretty chancy. The risk of getting recors mixed is pretty high.

CDs are mostly read-only, so you won't be able to use that for a live 
copy. A good option would be to put one or both of the copies of 
ebase onto a removable disk like a Zip disk or a USB hard drive that 
you can easily remove or disconnect from the machine. Then you would 
keep only one copy at a time connected to your machine.
