Okay, I managed to delete the errant contact records. Upon trying to add the correct ones, I discovered that two differently described source codes had ended up with the same code, which I didn't know was possible. We'll call one Letter1 and one Letter3. I cannot delete the Letter3 because it says it is in use. There are records that need to keep the Letter1 contact record.
