Friends, We have been using ebase 1.03 for the last two + years on a Novell Network and using Filemaker 4.1 on each of the four cliient computers.
We need to provide access to the ebase program to a branch office and plan to use a VPN to accomplish the connection. We will be moving to a Windows 2000 server and using terminal server to deliver two other databases to the branch office. I have searched the archive regarding the use of terminal server, FileMaker Server and FileMaker Pro 6 to provide remote access and found some relevant information. However, given the expense of the new server, software and the VPN setup, we may not have the resources to purchase the new FileMaker software as suggested in the postings. So I have these questions: Is it possible to use Windows 2000 terminal server and Filemaker Pro 4.1 to deliver the ebase 1.0 program to the branch office and how would it be configured? Would remote access software, i.e. VCN, PCAnywhere and a dedicated PC with static IP Address at the home office be the best way to give access to the ebase 1.0 program? Or is the best bet to upgrade to the latest FileMaker Server and FileMaker Pro and ebase 2?
