Hi David, The gta01 kernel uImage-2.6.28-andy-tracking+gitr2 +4c9a8d5badc466a68d71754d47bbb792a8dc44da-r4-om-gta01.bin is here http://downloads.openmoko.org/distro/testing/Neo1973/ In there you will also find the tarball which can extracted to the uSD card. You don't need to touch the modules file unless you are going to use the kernel with a different rootfs than the one provided there.
