I plan on my machines failing, so I run carp...if I didn't plan on them failing, I wouldn't :) With that said, yes it shouldn't be hanging or locking up on you. But if it does, it's likely to be an OS bug that we can't fix. I don't know what more to tell you - none of my pfSense boxes randomly hang, from time to time I've seen a kernel panic - but even that's cleaned up alot as the FreeBSD betas have stabilized. > This is sort of like putting a UPS battery on a server because the power > goes out every two or three days.
