After upgrading to the most recent version, I am all of a sudden not
able to get out of pfSense to the internet. I have a simple LAN / WAN
setup. I've tried removing all my rules, removing NAT, removing the
shaper and still no luck.
That was Tuesday. Then this evening, I stop by the office (I am the
only on there and not there every day, so that is why I left it
broken). Anyway, I stop at the office and all of a sudden, everything
is working fine. I had restored my config before I left, but things
were still not working. Now, all the rules are there, shaper is on,
etc and everything works.
So, as a test, I changed NOTHING, and rebooted.
And now I am not able to get out to the internet again....
I tried:
pfctl -f /tmp/rules.debug and that returned nothing. I assume that means my file is ok.
I looked at the rules.debug file and see entries in there with my new IP (my connection is PPPoE).
I then tried turning the shaper off, removing it, etc and still am not able to get out of the LAN to the internet.
webGUI works fine, but no traffic can get out to the internet from any LAN clients or from pfSense itself.
Does anyone have suggestions or things to debug this issue? As it
stands now, once it works I either need to pray for no reboots and / or
never upgrade as that seems to be the kiss of death.
Thanks all.
