I have a similar Problem:

Press save on Web:
Oct 27 08:44:12 gnom named[24401]: client <ip>#59666: update '<hostname>/IN' denied

Shell:
/usr/sbin/nsupdate -k /var/etc/K<key>.+157+00000.key /var/etc/ nsupdatecmds Oct 27 08:45:55 gnom named[24401]: client <ip>#51998: updating zone 'e<hostname>/IN': deleting an rrset Oct 27 08:45:55 gnom named[24401]: client <ip>#51998: updating zone 'e<hostname>/IN': adding an RR

And i had to delete the journal-file on the nameserver and add the nsupdate-command to cron.
I'll see today at about 1500 Cest if it works without cron ...

update_file.sh /etc/crontab && shutdown -r now

From a shell.

Hi Scott,

One day went by and it seems that it doesn't update automatically the dns record on dyndns as my ip changes. But it does when I click on "Save" on the DynDNS
service page.

Best regards

Imre
