[pfSense Support] Question about Dev.Ed.

Hi Guys!
I'm working with the developers edition, and it is fantastic. I have to fix two problems, and then (if you like) I would like to write down some notes about it, like a documentation....
Now the questions:
1) I rebuilt the iso yesterday, and I found "BETA2". Is it right? if so.... marvellous!
2) I tryed to use the plugin "customroot" for customizing /etc/passwd e /etc/master.passwd, but nothing seens to happen.. Do I have to change something? i.e. enable that plugin?
3) I would like to set a different boot timeout (shorter than 10 seconds): how can I do it?
