Is FreeBSD even supported in MS VS2005? :) I wouldn't consider it
even a FreeBSD bug until then (heck, it's not even supported in the
VMWare server versions - fbsd 6 that is)
Adding to that: is there any reason not to use VMware, now that the free
player has been released?

A.
The following operating systems are supported guests of Virtual Server:
•
Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition (Windows Server 2003 SP1 support
for Virtual Server 2005 R2 only)
•
Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition or later
•
Windows Server 2003 Web Edition or later
•
Windows Small Business Server 2003 Standard Edition or later
•
Windows Small Business Server 2003 Premium Edition or later
•
Windows 2000 Server
•
Windows 2000 Advanced Server
•
Windows NT Server 4.0 with Service Pack 6a
•
Windows XP SP2 (for Virtual Server 2005 R2 only)
In April 2005, Microsoft announced future plans to support additional
third-party operating systems, including certain Linux distributions, on
Virtual Server 2005 R2. More details of the specific guest operating
systems that will be supported and the means of support will be provided
at a later date.
Another "virtualization-package" is "Parallels",

At least, they officially support FreeBSD upto 5.4, which is also the
situation with VMware:

So, I suppose the results may be similar, too.
