While I cannot speak for the CF->IDE converter, I can speak for CF media. Over the years (about 5+ now) I have used SanDISK media in both Soekris units and also PC-Engines WRAPs (only in the last 1.5 years have I used WRAPS) and I cannot recall one SanDISK CF card going bad as of yet. Pretty good track record.
