We do not have multi-path routing in FreeBSD.   No ticket is required
this works as it should.  Enter the next hop gateway for whatever
route you require and it should just work.

It appears to be the in interface. You should open a bug report for the
help text of System->Static Routes, because it's not saying that.

I have a transparent-ethernet cable modem, and it can be addressed by
some 192.../24 IPs, but for that to happen the packets to that net have
to go out the WAN interface, which can be done by specifying the ISPs
gateway as gateway.

With Linux route one can alternatively specify the out interface or the
gateway IP, which would make more sense here too because I don't care
what the ISPs gateway is for this static route, but I do care that it
goes out the WAN interface.
