anyhow, to answer your question, I run Pfsense on a PE SC 400 with a
Dell SATA RAID card (which is basically adaptec) with no problems.
I've never had problems with FreeBSD not recognizing devices on a Dell
box. You should be safe. I know for sure FreeBSD 6.1 recognizes the
SATA RAID on a PE800.
Haha not underpaid, its my company ;) But the rack we are in is full, I
dont really want to buy an entire new rack just to house a UPS (BTW,
anything worth having is way more than $150 (Approx £1500GBP is what we
speced up) especially as the building we are in is usually good. The
power was only off for 15 mins which itself is not an issue really, its
more the fact the box didnt come back alive after :)
