I do not know about the 850, however I can tell you we have pfsense running on 2 2850’s and I just loaded it on 2 sc1425’s with no issues.   There are 10 types of people in this world, those who can read binary, and those who cannot. These threads come to an abrupt dead end when the user is given a patch from someone on the freebsd-current mailing list. I'm just wondering if anyone's tried this more recently, and if so, if they've encountered any issues, or if this has actually been resolved since then.
