if you have to defrag a compact flash, you have some SERIOUS storage problems. 
fragmented files really only hinder performance in mechanically moving drives 
such as your normal Hard disk drive. the rest of them switch at internal 
wirespeed already so theres no performance loss.
 
that and the read/writes that would be applied if you DID have to defrag a 
compact flash would eat up some of its storage cycles, shortening the lifetime 
of the CF drive.
