Hi All,
I've heard much about these WRAP boards, which can store pfSense
in firmware. What I need to know is the following:
* We need something that can handle 51 IPSec tunnels (and up to a
full T1 of bandwidth, occasionally; usually much less) without any
trouble caused by underpowered CPUs or insufficient RAM. Also, up
to 10 simultaneous PPTP connections. We require TWO Ethernet
interfaces.
ALIX would be a good choice, a full T1 of IPsec won't be a problem
with it. There are two and three interface models, pfSense works
great with either.
* We need something that, preferably, does not require assembly,
or if it does, can use standard components for enclosure.
Ideas? Where do I purchase these? Can I get something a bit
beefier?
PC Engines sells them, as do other vendors. If you're in the US,
Netgate.com has them in stock. Check the recent ALIX post on http://
blog.pfsense.org for links.
BTW: What kind of case do you recommend?
AFAICS, PCEngines doesn't really sell Mini-ITX-cases, which seem to
be the form-factor for the ALIX-boards.
cheers,
Rainer
