Hello all,

was just talking over somethings with people..

What could the future ever be for pfsense as a port? (/usr/ports/security/pfsense) (m0n0wall and freenas as well)..

it depends on pfsense, php, httpd.. (possibly) could read /etc/rc.conf for networking information..

Just wanted to throw that out there and see what anyone else thought..

AFAIK, pfSense is FreeBSD6+some patches not in the main FreeBSD tree.
Maybe one could fiddle the userland stuff into a port, but judging from the developers' comments, it's certainly not easy.

I'm quite satisfied with pfSense the way it is now - I don't know how satisfied the developers are with the way it has to be built.
For me, this is a non-issue.

cheers,
Rainer
