Apologies if this capability already exists and I have just missed it...
Are there any plans to implement virtual wireless interfaces in pfSense,
thus allowing one to define multiple wireless networks that share a
single physical interface.
Specifically I am looking for the ability to be able to run a WPA
protected network for private use and also to be able to define an open
WLAN for 'community' use with much more limited access
There are other products out there that allow you to run multiple
virtual WLANS (with separate SSID's and configuration parameters per
WLAN) but they aren't nearly as nice to use as pfSense.
Any thoughts?
