Hello,

Last week my old P3 Dell with 4 NICs including onboard (3 Load balanced &
Failover WANs and LAN) was upgraded to a 6-NIC setup(5 WANs and 1 LAN) with
pfsense 1.2, I was using 3 Realtek based NICs and the onboard 3com based,
everything was ok, but when I turned it off and plugged two 3com(3C905C-TX)
in it, just got so slow, the install process took me like 30 minutes, but
it crashed when I was creating the partitions in my 30Gb HD, neither way, I
change all the NICs to Realtek based ones, but the same issue occurred,
again I replace all the NICs to 3com 3C905C model, same stuff, I even
replace the HD, the CD-ROM, DIMMs, put a HD to CF Card adapter, but the same
issues over and over, even if I just insert one NIC(Realtek, 3com, besides
the onboard NIC) it didn't work.

So I decided to use an old Cisco 1900 catalyst switch to connect the WANs
using the VLANs feature, and another Dell P3 based with an onboard 3com and
an Intel NIC to use for the VLANs. Well I am not a CCNA, neither way I tried
to configure the VLANs using the menus provided by IOS on the switch, I
added vlan2, vlan3, vlan4, vlan5 and vlan6 on the switch then assigned each
vlan to port 1 thru port 5 statically, and configure the trunk port(A) in
nonegotiate, on, off, desirable, auto, but none of the configs worked and
haven't been able to assign IPs from DHCP on each router to each VLAN.

Is there another config I need to set on the switch or the box so Pfsense
can adquire IPs automatically?

Pfconfig:

VLANs

Interfaces Assignment
Interface VLAN tag
Description
fxp0 2 vlan2
                                             LAN: xl0
fxp0 3 vlan3
fxp0 4 vlan4

WAN: VLAN 2 on Fxp0(vlan2)
fxp0 5
vlan5
OPT1: VLAN 3 on Fxp0(vlan3)
fxp0 6 vlan6
                                                               OPT2: VLAN 4
on Fxp0(vlan4)

                                                     OPT3: VLAN 5 on
Fxp0(vlan5)

                                                  OPT4: VLAN 6 on
Fxp0(vlan6)

Cisco switch config is factory defaults except from the VLAN
feature(Trunking mode and VLANS added & configured).

Any suggestions?

I will apreciate any of the Cisco VLANs based Pfsense boxes may respond.

TIA,

Victor.
