Hello, i recommend cards which are supported by the atheros driver (quiet many cards): [i386,pc98,amd64,sparc64] The ath(4) driver supports all Atheros Cardbus or PCI cards, except those that are based on the AR5005VL chipset. I know that the old intel (example 2200BG) chips couldn't be used in AP mode. I have bought a Wistron CM9 with Atheros chip and use it with Askozia (Asterisk PBX based on FreeBSD). Works fine in AP mode. So it should ok for pfSense too.
