Hi my friends. I have seen the great work the pfsense team have done with the current 2.0. Exist 1 feature that I love it, the voucher system with captive portal.
We are a bunch of guys that love open source and we are thinking on creating a extra features to the voucher system but I want to share with u. This is not my natural language please, if u don't understand something let me know. First, the voucher system let u created around 65536 rolls each one with 1023 keys total=67,108,864 a lot of keys. We think that with a interface that let a external system like a POS system contact pfsense voucher system to create the roll+keys with be very useful, because once the POS system request more keys, it will give the order to pfsense, pfsense will created the roll+keys and send back to the POS system the new keys, the POS system will save them to his own DB, printed them into the ticket went he need to, done request more before he get 0 from his DB. With this the user won't need to touch the system. I don't know if someone have done this already or what u think about this idea? if u want to add something please let me know. Now, what I still don't understand is, once pfsense created the rolls, where I can read them, is a file a db, on memory? I can see the used+active keys but I still don't understand how he handle the new keys, if someone know about this and what to share it I will appreciated.
