I saved two log files. The first ( ) shows a chat with the problem occurring several times.
The second ( ) shows a chat with a different computer running the same version of Pidgin, without the problem. The toggling between online / offline occurred several times during the chat. A confusing bit in purple-debug.log was (19:16:52) jabber: Recv (ssl)(88): <presence from="[email protected]/13B80E83" type="unavailable" to="[email protected]"/> (19:16:52) jabber: Changed conversation binding from [email protected]/13B80E83 to [email protected] (19:16:52) blist: Updating buddy status for [email protected] (XMPP) (19:16:52) sound: Playing C:\WINDOWS\Media\notify.wav" <-- this is the sound I have set for online and offline status. I can't find anything like the conversation binding change from cfm755@gmail/com/13B80E83 to [email protected] in the other log. Is it possible that Pidgin is switching between two supposedly identical accounts and dropping the connection as it makes the switch? If so, how can I delete the account (cleanly) and re-define it?
