finch join/hide part

Pidgin is configured to hide join/part messages, but I cannot enable the 
plugin for finch.  As in the text attachment, I can bring up the list of 
plugins, but how do I actually install or configure the plugin?

Also, why doesn't finch just load the plugin and config from pidgin?
