Sampo - can you give us a bit more?
It has to be something that has been publicly available as full AV, within the last 1-3 years. With a high grain DJ, and some pretty wild panning over the floor. It could be that the underlying technology was WFS as well -- but then that is a moot point, isn't it?
Some friends of mine and I have done dance stuff using ambisonics -back in the '90s and more recently a few years back with Trance stuff at the Glade festival - and Funktion One (a stadium PA design company) do some experimental stuff with 1st and 2nd order pantophonic material, using Bruce Wiggins' plugins.
I seem to remember us talking about spatial aliasing because of the sparse rig spacing, in the aftermath. I could be wrong, and I might not have made myself too clear, at the time, either. But yeah, I think I remember at least one occasion where this one was brought up.
I also think that I might have brought it up later, after my first forest party.
Are you talking about something different?
I am: one specific video of one European exhibition. Club music, panned ambisonically. It has been linked on-list in the past. Plus some visuals. I just want the link.
p.s. - anyone taking something interesting to the Ambisonics symposium 2011 in Kentucky?
Not me. Ain't gonna happen in my line of work, with my kind of pay. -- Sampo Syreeni, aka decoy - [email protected], http://decoy.iki.fi/front +358-50-5756111, 025E D175 ABE5 027C 9494 EEB0 E090 8BA9 0509 85C2 _______________________________________________ Sursound mailing list [email protected] https://mail.music.vt.edu/mailman/listinfo/sursound
