Well, he does say plan(ish) :-) However, I tend to agree because lightning is a vertical line
source and a waterfall tends to a horizontal line source. Probably a closer approximation to a true
plane wave would stem from things much closer to the (non-existent) true point source, such as
distant gunshots or other explosive discharges with a small physical extent.
