Any suggestions to remedy this affront to human civilisation ? I guess the problem with surface mics is a lot of our voice is shaped by our lips so any device would have to come afterwards. Pmc recently informed me they can measure dispersion patterns of their speakers at different frequencies with a laser. Assuming this isn't a figment of their marketing departments imagination ... a laser microphone ? Make it so.
