Well, all this complaint about windows seems to have given my computer
ideas. I have several thousand .chk files and I quit scandisk before it
was done. Something, who knows what, has trashed my C: drive. Not all of
it, just enough to require reformatting and reinstalling. No, I haven't
been doing anything advanced. Just working on html, playing sound files,
surfing, editing graphics, you know, stuff. Nothing with the O/S. Sigh.
My first clue was the replacement of all files in c:\pkware\ with machine
language and folder icons. Ran scandisk and it told me there were LBA
errors. Well, that was beyond me so I figured I'll have to reinstall. So
ran scandisk anyway. After hours of tapping the enter key....
Well, to make it more interesting, my cd for win98 is also corrupt...
Yeah, thanks M$ and up yours too!
So, if I dissappear for awhile, you'll know why!
