Actually I'm glad I did. I ran the windows version instead and it seemed
to make more sense of things. The dos version was finding the entire last
two rows (on the graphic rep of my disks and clusters) as bad clusters and
rewriting 13,000+ files to chk files. Anyway, I just threw them out, most
were program codes and I didn't lose any documents, moved them first to a
partition that's blank, and prepared to reinstall. Well, I am way to busy
for that, so I'm just reinstalling the corel suite that is clearly gone and
take it from there for now. When I get the contracts for websites and
graphics finished and the painting contract too, I can take the time to
wrestle. Maybe by then I'll have that other 486 I'm buying up and running
with linux and will learn that format well enough to trash win9x and switch
over on this machine. We'll see what we shall see.
Anyway, I'm still running.
bye,
Yolanda
