I wouldn't wory about the HD too much.....I would start looking for a case,
motherboard, I/O board, and video card.  That's because I am betting the
drives will outlast the motherboard that probably has all of your I/O and
your video.

When my father's Packard Bell went bonkers I pulled the memory, drives, and
sound card.  I got a case, 386 motherboard, I/O card, and a video
card....all used, with the exception of the case.  This could all be
collected as you find them

I hope this doesn't offend you, I am just speaking from experience.
