I have resurected an old NEC Powermate 1 (APC IV) which is a 286 at 8MHz. Anyone know what the extended memory is in the NEC Powermate 1? It has some SCSI hard disk in it. Today when I booted it up it said "Invalid configuration information - please run SETUP program" and "Hard disk controller failure" So I downloaded the setup program from NEC and fixed the hard disk problem by setting the hard disk type from 2 to none. It's a SCSI and seems happy to run itself, and boot DOS 5. It just gets this other error on every reboot. I had a look in the SETUP and the only thing I can think of it being is the memory settings are incorrect. It is set to 640k base memory, and extended memory is set to none. Anyone know what the extended memory is in the NEC Powermate 1?
