I use InterLnk.exe and Intersvr.Exe every day on a variety of machines. In
fact, while reading through this mail packet on an old Compaq DeskPro 386/25
which is upgraded to a 486DX2/50 running PC-DOS 7.00's InterLnk.Exe, I have
saved a number of messages over the parallel port to a different machine
connected and running InterSvr.Exe under MS-DOS 6.22. No problems here.
The InterSvr.Exe machines transfers control of all its drives to the machine
running Interlnk.exe. If you are going to use serial connections, you must
specify the com port and comm parameters of that port for the machine at
each end of the cable. I've never seen another program as stupid simple and
hassle-free as this pair for transferring files from one machine to another.
I've seen and used it in every version of MS-DOS 5.0-6.22 and the
OldDos.Exe supplemental files for Windows 95; and every version of IBM's
PC-DOS from 5.0-7.0 and and I think it is also in PC-DOS 2000. I have also
run the interlnk.exe and intersvr.exe from a given version of DOS on another
version, including ones that pre-dated the DOS-es 5.0 with no problems.
