I asked the manufacture of my car's computer for this info and they
said cheerfully, "That information is proprietory, thankyou for
visiting our web site."

When translated it means:

"We dont give that information out to everyone, instead we charge
software companies big bucks for the information, to sell $700 crap,
and give us a commission, after they have also signed an agreement
that they dont give the information to anyone."

I'm sure a scanner company would be more willing to give this
information out though.

I wouldnt mind making a DOS graphics program which I then add drivers
for new video cards, scanners and printers.

I'm already working on video and sound drivers for my real mode game
etc
