Depends on what you're wanting to do; if you're planning to add a 3rd drive
as IDE, there are good add-on controllers that will do the job without a
software driver; I refer specifically to the GSI Model 1C (my preferred
controller by far) and the Promise EIDEMAX card. (Either is about 30
bucks.) Not only will they add the secondary channel for a third and fourth
IDE drive, but will add the BIOS support needed for the larger EIDE drives on
older computers.
